The first official teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Yellowjackets season 3 has dropped, and we've watched it at least a dozen times. We thought we were excited about the upcoming season before, but now we can hardly contain our excitement!

The teaser might be short with its 1-minute and 20-second runtime, but there's so much that goes on. With just a glimpse of what’s to come next in this hit horror series, the teaser is packed with jaw-dropping moments that have us counting down the days until its release.

Oh, you thought previous seasons were intense? There’s no doubt Yellowjackets season 3 will be the most thrilling yet. Ready to dive into the chaos? Here are seven standout moments from the teaser trailer that have us more excited than ever for the upcoming season’s release!

Mari runs through the woods to get away from something/someone

In the first 15 seconds of the teaser trailer, we see a panicked Mari running through the woods with the other survivors chasing after her. Could she be the next person to be eaten in the 1996 timeline? The survivors are more desperate than ever this season after losing their shelter in the season 2 finale. Time is just passing by, and the already limited food supply has become even more limited.

They haven't sacrificed one of their own since Javi, so it wouldn't be surprising if they resulted in cannibalism again. With Mari running through the woods and the others chasing after her, it does look like they've started another sacrificial cannibalism ritual. If you recall from previous seasons, once a victim has been selected and marked for death, they are then hunted by the others. Who knows, maybe Mari is running from something else in the woods. We can't wait to find out!

Dead Jackie seemingly returns

I thought the Jackie storyline was done with after last season, but it doesn't look like that in the season 3 teaser. In a short clip in the teaser trailer, it looks like adult Shauna hallucinates a dead Jackie while standing in a freezer. As we all know, teen Shauna could never quite get over Jackie's death, so it makes sense why she's still haunted by her in the present timeline.

Could Jackie be offering her some advice about everything that's going on? I personally liked the Jackie character, and I love the actress who portrays her. So, I'm glad to see her come back in some capacity in the new season.

Taissa's hallucinations are back

While all of the characters were affected by what happened to them in the wilderness in the 1996 timeline, Taissa and Lottie seem to be the ones who were the most affected. In the present timeline, adult Taissa often experiences sleepwalking and paranoia and frequently sees visions. In the teaser trailer, it appears that Taissa hallucinates seeing a tall, lanky man with no eyes while making out with Van in an alleyway. Who is the man, and why is Taissa imagining him?

Misty grabs a knife and seemingly tries to harm Shauna

Misty is the one character who all the others should be on the lookout for in the 1996 timeline and in the present. I mean, she's the reason why the girls' soccer team was stuck in the wilderness in the first place. The thing is, you never really know whose side she's on or her intentions. Just when you think she's being a good friend/person, she does something that makes you shake your head.

In the Yellowjackets season 3 teaser, an adult Misty appears to be trying to stab adult Shauna. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. Misty is always doing some unhinged things, so I guess we can just add this to the list.

A survivor appears to be eaten alive

Remember when we talked about Mari being chased by the others in the woods? Well, there's another clip in the teaser showing one character biting hard on another character's hand as if they're trying to eat them alive. The character doing the biting looks like Shauna and the other character being harmed looks like Mari. If not Mari, then Lottie because the character in the teaser has black hair, and Lottie is the only other character in the 1996 timeline with black hair.

Shauna is seemingly pulled underwater

There's a short clip in the teaser showing teen Shauna standing in a body of water, staring at something in shock before being pulled under. We know Shauna doesn't die in the 1996 timeline because she's in the present, but what's going to happen to her in this scene? Will she be injured badly? Who will save her?

Hilary Swank's character sees something shocking in the road

Hilary Swank is a new cast addition in Yellowjackets season 3, and we're all wondering what her character will bring to the new season. At the very end of the teaser trailer, her character makes an appearance. She appears to be stranded and is injured. While standing in the middle of the road, she stares at something in shock before saying, "Oh, sh*t," and running away. What is it that she sees? Is this the past or present timeline? I guess we'll have to wait until the third season comes out to find out.

Take a look at the thrilling official trailer below!
