Hugh Grant, Chloe East, and Sophie Thatcher star in the upcoming religious horror movie Heretic, which A24 will release on November 15, 2024, reports Deadline.

Announced in 2023, Heretic follows two Mormon missionaries intent on converting a man to their faith, only to discover the man in question is far more dangerous than they initially believed. In June of last year, The Hollywood Reporter shared that The Fabelmans breakout star Chloe East was in talks to star in the new movie, helmed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who previously worked with John Krasinski on A Quiet Place.

It was later reported that Heretic started filming in Vancouver last October and filmed through November. With A24 coming to an interim agreement with SAG-AFTRA, Heretic was one of several projects able to film while the strikes were ongoing.

Apart from East, fans know Thatcher from her role in the hit Showtime series Yellowjackets. She also recently starred in the horror film The Boogeyman and will next appear in MaXXXine and the sci-fi thriller Companion.

Grant is an acclaimed A-list actor with many credits under his belt, most recently including Wonka, The Regime, Unfrosted, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, and Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre. He will reprise his role as Daniel Cleaver in the next Bridget Jones film, Mad About the Boy.

Besides Heretic, A24 also announced the psychological horror film The Front Room, starring Brandy Norwood and Kathryn Hunter, will be released on September 6, 2024.
