Horror fans are going to have a plethora of haunted attractions to choose from this year between the excellent line-up at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights and the annual Six Flags Fright Fest. 1428 Elm previously reported that select Six Flags theme parks would feature a Texas Chainsaw Massacre maze, but the scares don't end there. In honor of the film's 20th anniversary, Six Flags is teaming up with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures to bring Jigsaw back!

Saw: Legacy of Terror will open this September at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Over Georgia, and Six Flags Great Adventure and run through November 3.

Described as "the ultimate trial of survival," guests can step into John Kramer's workshop, the place where all the traps are designed. Fans of the long-running film franchise will find plenty of easter eggs, references, and homages to iconic moments and traps from the movies, like The Rack from Saw III and the "eyeball trap," which I'm assuming refers to the Eye Vacuum Trap from Saw X.

Six Flags touts this experience as "all-new," and if the "eye trap" is indeed part of the experience, then it sounds like it's updated to include the later entries in the franchise like the acclaimed tenth film released in 2023.

But the most exciting element of Saw: Legacy of Terror is its interactivity. The press release teases that guests won't just be bystanders this time around, but instead "active participants in Jigsaw's games." Choices made by parkgoers will lead to different outcomes.

Other elements teased in the haunt include Billy the Puppet's Control Room, a place where he gets to put guests to the test and see if they are truly worthy of redemption.

"Celebrating two decades of pure horror, SAW: LEGACY OF TERROR brings some of the franchise’s most iconic moments to life. We’ve crafted an experience that’s perfect for both die-hard fans and newcomers, ensuring that everyone feel that intense, nerve-wracking terror that has defined the series. Of course, there will be white knuckle scares throughout, but this year, guests’ actions will determine the outcomes they face – the choices you make decide whether you escape or fall victim to the horror lurking inside. Every twist and turn is designed to plunge you deep into the nightmare of SAW."

More than two decades since the original film from writer and director duo Leigh Whannell and James Wan debuted and the Saw franchise is still going strong. An eleventh film is currently in development, scheduled for release on September 26, 2025.
