A Ready or Not sequel was confirmed earlier this year, and now we're starting to get more details about the upcoming film from Radio Silence, which will see the return of star Samara Weaving.
Weaving was the "final girl" from the 2019 movie. Her character, Grace, married into the Le Domas family, unaware of the twisted game they play on every family member's wedding day. Grace picks "Hide-and-Seek," leading her to run from the family as they try to murder her to fulfill their part of a generational curse.
Earlier this week, Searchlight Pictures shared an endearing promotional video announcing new cast members and more.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come
Even before the sequel was officially announced, fans hoped it would be subtitled "Here I Come." It's similar to Happy Death Day 2U and the upcoming Now You See Me: Now You Don't. Who doesn't love a clever title that plays on a popular phrase?
We have official confirmation that the sequel has been declared Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.
Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, and more among the newly announced cast
It was already announced that Weaving would return for the new movie along with the exciting addition of her fellow scream queen, Kathryn Newton, best known for Abigail, Lisa Frankenstein, and Freaky. Newton's Abigail co-star Kevin Durand is also joining her for Ready or Not: Here I Come.
As you can see in the video shared by Searchlight Pictures, other cast members joining the film include Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, and David Cronenberg. The video cleverly uses the same card template featured in the Le Bail puzzle box from the first film.
Gellar's name is likely the biggest draw for most horror fans, seeing as she played Buffy Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and has appeared in many other horror movies since then. Most recently, she guest-starred on Dexter: Original Sin and fans have been remembering her portrayal of Helen Shivers in I Know What You Did Last Summer, with the new one coming out this July.
Cronenberg's involvement in the movie is a surprise as he is best known for being a body horror filmmaker, making movies like The Fly, Scanners, and the recently released The Shrouds. But he has acted previously, taking on roles in Slasher, Alias, Alias Grace, and Star Trek: Discovery. It's always fun to see him acting in new projects.
As for Wood, The Lord of the Rings alum has recently been in several horror projects between Yellowjackets and The Monkey. Campbell is best known for The Morning Show, The Dark Knight trilogy, and Shõgun, while Hatosy has been growing in popularity lately thanks to his endearing turn as Dr. Jack Abbott on The Pitt. But horror lovers might recognize him from The Faculty.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is currently in production.
